AREAS OF COMPETITION AND JUDGING CRITERIA



PANEL INTERVIEW 


Interview – 25% of Score

Attire: Business/Professional (approximately 30 minutes)

A 5-10 minute self-introduction by the contestant followed by questions from the judging panel. These questions are focused on your background, opinions on current events, world culture, social/political topics, involvement in the community and other interests. 



PAGEANT


Opening Number – Not Judged

Attire: TBD

Brief dance and walking pattern opening number with current Queen and Princesses.


Business Attire – 25% of Score

Attire: Professional/Interview Outfit (2 minutes)

Opening with a 2-minute self-introduction “About Me” section announcing your name, age, school, interests, personal and professional goals. You may also include why you love Huntington Beach, what being Miss Huntington Beach would mean to you, and/or your passion for your platform. 


Athletic/Lifestyle Wear – 25% of Score

Attire: Clothing suitable for exercise, sports, activities, or hobbies associated with an activity you regularly participate in and enjoy. (2 minutes)

As you showcase your chosen activity, the MC will speak about you including related information from your bio.


Formal Wear – 25% of Score

Attire: Evening Gown (2 minutes)

You will be asked an on-stage question during this portion of the competition. Topics will involve history/facts about Huntington Beach which will have been discussed during Orientation.

LITTLE MISS HB APPLICATION

Introducing the 1st Annual Little Miss Huntington Beach — Class of 2027! 


We’re thrilled to introduce a brand-new mentorship program celebrating the next generation of Huntington Beach leaders, service advocates, and community champions!


Little Miss Huntington Beach pairs girls ages 6–11 with Miss Huntington Beach and her Court for a year filled with mentorship, friendship, service, and unforgettable community experiences.


Class of 2027 Includes:
Custom crown & sash
Mentorship with Miss Huntington Beach Contestants and Court 
Opportunity to participate at the 115th Annual Miss Huntington Beach Scholarship Program on 10/24 at 2pm in the HB Central Library Theater 
Invitation to signature Huntington Beach events, including the Annual Queen’s Rose Garden Ceremony


Participation: $200, $150 for Additional Children
