For the 58th year, the Sand Dollars honored this year's Miss Huntington Beach, Katie Sage Chrisman, by planting a rose in the Miss Huntington Beach Queens’ Rose Garden at City Hall (located just outside of Council Chambers on the lower level of City Hall).
Growing up, Katie would help her grandma, Linda Chrisman, tend her garden and beautiful rose bushes. Katie chose the “Double Delight” rose with a white flower center and strawberry-red edges.
Mayor Pro Tem Gracey Van Der Mark served as the master of ceremonies for the event and in attendance were City Officials, Miss Huntington Beach sponsors, community supporters, family members, current and former Miss Huntington Beach Queens, Stacey Jue (1995) and Nicole Smith (2005). After the dedication, the Sand Dollars of Huntington Beach and Sponsors of the Miss Huntington Beach Scholarship Program hosted a reception with refreshments and an official cake-cutting.

For the 57th year, a rose will be planted in the City’s Queen’s Rose Garden to honor this year's reigning Queen, Gisell Eden Gochman.
Gisell has chosen the “Sweet Spirit” rose an early summer bloom symbolizing spirituality and the wonder of God’s world. This rose will be planted in her honor in the Queen’s Rose Garden (located just outside of Council Chambers on the lower level, opposite the HBPD Training Center) on June 15th at 11:30am.
Join the honorable Barbara Delgleize, Mayor; City Officials; Sponsors; Supporters; family members, current and former Miss Huntington Beach Queens and Princesses. All will be on hand for the dedication festivities. After the dedication, there will be entertainment and refreshments compliments of The Sand Dollars of Huntington Beach and our sponsors.
